People First Finance: Bookkeeper Job Description People First Finance is a California based Virtual CFO Agency that exists to help remarkable women business owners manage their money and their futures through bookkeeping, tax planning, and thought partnership. Responsibilities & Experience ● Categorize transactions for clients on a weekly basis, and collect transaction details on a monthly basis to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting. ● Reconcile checking, savings and loan accounts for clients on a monthly basis. ● Prepare monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows) for analysis and client review. ● Complete regular accounts receivable and accounts payable duties, such as preparing reports, collections, researching and reconciling discrepancies, and processing transactions. ● Work directly with management to coordinate internal deliverables and client communication. ● Communicate directly with clients to provide timely and accurate financial services. This includes, but is not limited to: maintaining expense records and receipts, preparing tax forms, performing audits and setting up Chart of Accounts/new Quickbooks Online files. ● Coordinate with the internal team to finalize annual reports for tax preparation in alignment with US tax compliance, as advised by CPA. ● Optimize the use of bookkeeping software (Quickbooks Online is a must, Xero) according to the needs of individual clients. ● Process payroll and contractor payments via Gusto or Quickbooks Online ● Process quarterly sales tax filings. ● Support the team with administrative deliverables (i.e. internal workflow updates, requests for client information, etc.) to keep internal financial software and processes up to date and operating with high efficiency. ● Hourly time tracking reported on a weekly basis will be required ● Experience working with Sole Proprietor, LLC and S Corp election business entities. Qualifications ● Minimum 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience with Quickbooks Online, working directly with a variety of clients across various sectors and states ● Remarkable customer service – you want to be the best part of a person’s day ● Highly organized, with meticulous attention to detail ● Impeccable, professional communication skills ● Ability and desire to grow and take on more responsibility over time ● Can work as part of a team, and independently (this is a 100% remote position) ● You value working with a company that honors and prioritizes self care ● Familiarity with ClickUp, Slack and Voxer a plus! ● We will require professional references This position will start off as part-time but has the opportunity to grow to full-time.
