Medical Billing Specialist Job Descriptions Salary $20 – $40 an hour Job Type Full-time Remote Qualifications ICD-10: 1 year (Preferred) Medical Billing: 1 year (Required) Job Responsibilities: Prepares and enters charges, processes billing insurance claims, patient statements, and collection letters. Ensures information is being processed timely and accurately. Ensures all outstanding claims are paid on time and contacts appropriate insurance carriers and patients to collect payment or resolve outstanding issues. Posts all payments in a timely manner. Reviews open accounts for collectible efforts. Communicates with responsible payors to research and resolve questions regarding client accounts. Answers incoming calls and questions regarding account reimbursement. *This listing is not to be construed as all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned* Minimum Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year prior healthcare billing experience. one year experience coding and/ or healthcare billing required. Knowledge and Skills preferred: Work independently and with peers. Ability to use a computer for e-mail, data inquiry, and data entry. Ability to create and utilize basic and complex spreadsheets to record and report data. Detail oriented, impeccable follow-up, focus oriented, and multi tasking skills.
