The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has experience of progressive accounting and bookkeeping for USA companies, organized, detailed oriented, reliable and a good multitasker. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties and management of financial data. For more information on Palo Alto Mind Body, please visit www.paloaltomindbody.com Key responsibilities include: • Prepares, records, updates, verifies, and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records. • Reconciliation of bank accounts and other financial streams • Management of all financial data in QuickBooks in accordance with GAAP • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly financials and reports relating to financial performance • Completes variance analyses compared to prior periods and budget. • Prepares patient (and customer) invoices and account statements. • Perform recurring and ad hoc financial analysis for reporting on operations • Answer financial and accounting questions by researching into and interpreting data. • Researches and solves payment discrepancies and prepares adjustments to accounts as needed. Qualifications: • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field • MBA preferred but not required • CPA preferred but not required • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience for USA companies • Past work in healthcare highly preferred (e.g. a deep understanding of the financial model related to healthcare insurance/claims/adjudication/appeals/payments/recoveries) • Exceptional proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets • Expert proficiency working in QuickBooks • QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification required Required Knowledge, Skills, and abilities: • Must be highly fluent in English (written / oral) and have experience working in an English-speaking environment • Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances, as well as validate your own work. • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines. • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. • Flexible in taking on new work assignments and working in new processes.
