Looking at improving our Excel sheet and the way we capture patient infomration on our nursing floor. We need to create command buttons for easier functionality of admitting, moving, discharging and printing patient information. creating a formula for printing staffing assignments based on the difficulty of patient care. Creating a formula for interpreting the acuity or difficulty of patient care. Looking at improving our report sheet by adding combo boxes to help streamline and create a formula that helps identify the acuity (level of patient difficulty from 2 thru 5). Also looking for any other data entry benefits that we could use to help improve nurses inserting data into these forms. I do not want to keep any patient information database or storage. Regarding the formula for printing staff assignments. As the charge nurse, I perform the same 10 step ritual in assigning patients to oncoming nurses. I would like to highlight these steps and create a worksheet where I just select what nurses work the next shift and the it auto generates their patient assignment of 4 to 5 patients. all patient information must be kept on the front side of paper, to where this allows a blank back side for nursing hand written notes. Then at the end of the shift, the nurse has to update the patient notes as the information is up to date for the oncoming nurse. The assignment must contain that acuity total for the assignment, as example the nurse has four patients with each valued as a 4 in difficulty for a total of 16 for acuity. the outcome must be easy to use, pleasant appearance, with rich content that improves workflow as nurses update an excel file.
