have 13 folders, one for each month in a string of months. Each folder contains about 20 files, one for each trading day of that month, that contain public financial data of all stocks on the NYSE. I need data for certain stocks for each day of the whole time period, so I need someone to consolidate this data for me. You would create and send me a single folder of 13 excel files, each file containing a month’s worth of data, each sheet of the files containing a single days worth of data for specific stocks and expiration dates that I will provide. It’s important that the sheets of each file only contain the data of the specific stocks and expiration dates I specify because the files need to be small enough for me to upload into gdrive with their 5 million cell limit. So you will receive 13 folders. You need to open a folder, open a file, filter that file to specific stocks and dates that I will provide, select only those visible filtered cells, copy and paste into a seperate new file that you will label as the month and year. You will then open a new file of the same month in the data I sent, filter to the same things, select those visible cells, and paste into a seperate sheet of the same file you pasted the previous days data into, so that each sheet of the file you’re creating is a day of the specific stocks and expiration dates I provide. You’ll label each sheet in the new file you’re creating as the date of the data it contains. You’ll be able to tell which date each file of data I send you is from the name of them. 20200820 = 8/20/2020. You will do this for each of the 13 months. When you are done you will have 13 files, each of which is a months worth of data in the form of a days worth of data on each sheet. Then stick the files in a folder and send to me.
